• Winda Snipes was strangled with the cord that was cut from a clock.
This is the one piece of evidence that most agree must have been touched by the person who killed Winda.
The state claimed that no prints were ever lifted from this clock.

  • At trial, according to transcripts;
Detective Gregory Harrison testified that he attempted, but he could not lift any prints off of the clock.
He then says that the clock was not lifted for prints, he did not lift a print from the clock.
He then says the clock was lifted for prints.

  • The clock was supposedly never checked for prints until the fourth day of trial,
     at which time it was examined with a magnifying glass.

Yet when Brett's mother filed for a copy of his case,under the Public Record Act, found within those papers
were a number of documents to the contrary.

In a  police report prepared by Detective Rod Smith, it clearly states;
  • "prints lifted from one plastic Wesclox clock (partial set, sent to BCI)".

In another evidence report, in the right hand margin, after it describes the Wesclox clock seized are the
words written,
  • "prints compared".

Administrators note;
The reports indicate that prints were lifted and compared, against whom, it does not say.
Obviously they did not match Brett, Winda, or come back as inclusive. Otherwise there would have been no
logical reason for these to be withheld from Brett's trial counsel.
